The NewLife Story
NewLife was first established as Waldorf Wesleyan Church in 1966. From its inception until its relocation to the current property in la Plata, Maryland, in 1997, the church remained a faithful congregation of between 25 and 100 people. In 1999, God moved Pastor Mike and Tina Hilson to the church. God had given them the dream of seeing one small church become a movement of churches that could eventually change culture.
Today that congregation of 100 has become the NewLife Network with a combined attendance of about 5,000 people each weekend. Over the years, God has empowered NewLife to launch 10 congregations throughout the Washington D.C. metro area.
Whether as a free-standing church plant or a NewLife video venue, each of these congregations is busy leading people to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make and IMPACT!
NewLife is committed to moving forward in God's calling: building more than just churches, but rather a movement that will ultimately change the culture to become more and more like the Kingdom of God
The Legacy Campaign will expand the Kingdom of God through the growth of the central congregation of NewLife and through the increased planting of churches throughout the Washington D.C. metro area.
The goal of this campaign is to raise $5,000,000 to expand the NewLife Network through:

- Seating for between 1,800 and 2,500 in a single service.
- Two separate entry points for more efficient traffic flow on and off the property.
- A worship spaced designed to include video and live stream capture.
As we progress with the construction of a new Broadcast Campus, we will simultaneously plant churches.
- Plant at least three churches within the next three years.
- Upon relocation of the Boradcast Campus, Launch new congregations on the current site.
- We are always seeking opportunities for church planting and church revitalization.
- Each network Church is currently contributing 10% of weekly offering to the Kingdom Investment Fund.
- Through the Apprentice, Intern & Resident (AIR) program and Leader Track, each campus is developing leaders for the next generation of NewLife.
What Can I Do?
Pray. Prayer is the roadmap for the journey we are on together. Gather your family and ask, “What does sacrifice mean for us?”
Give. As you pray, consider giving a sacrificial donation above your regular tithe, to the Legacy Campaign beginning March 24/25, 2018.
Commit. Make a pledge to consistently give to the Legacy Campaign by completing a Commitment Card starting the weekend of March 24 & 25, 2018.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my commitment be made public?
No, your commitment will not be made public. We are committed to the privacy of our donors and placing the focus of our donations on God, not ourselves.
Will I have the opportunity to revise my commitment?
Yes, you will be completely in control of your commitment. We will keep you informed of your progress toward your goal.
When will the collection of Legacy Campaign offerings begin?
We encourage you to give at your own pace. We will begin receiving funds immediately following the Commitment Weekend (February 24/25) and will deposit them into the Kingdom Investment Fund immediately.
How much should I give?
Give no more or less then you feel the Holy Spirit is leading you to give. Our goal is not to set financial targets for you to meet, but to help you live fully surrendered to the call of the Holy Spirit.
How will the money be used?
The goals of the campaign are outlined in this brochure. Along the way, we will use the money in the wisest way possible. We may pay off current debt so that we can place all new debt on the new Broadcast Campus. If we are in a place of great strength and are ready to break ground quickly, we may use all of the funds on the new property. We will accomplish our God-given goals and we will do so in the wisest way possible.
How does this impact my campus?
For those who attend at the Broadcast Campus in La Plata, you can expect an improved experience with a better sanctuary and more accessible parking. For those who attend one of our other campuses, the benefits are also certain. We all have the privilege of investing in the establishment of at least three new congregations. Also, these funds are what hold each congregation stable during times of difficulty. We are all in this together and we are going to see God do some amazing things!
